Exactly who will contact you
NJ Home Energy Savings (operated by SS Technologies) is not an installer. When you finish the check and agree to be contacted, we send your answers to Spectacular Solar, a licensed New Jersey solar installer, and to no one else.
We may be paid by Spectacular Solar for introductions. Using this site costs you nothing.
- Who: Spectacular Solar. We may also follow up once to confirm your request.
- How: the phone number and email you provide, by call, text, or email.
- Why: to review your home and walk you through a solar estimate.
- Stop anytime: reply STOP to a text, tell the caller, or email us.
Our estimate assumptions, in plain English
We keep the math simple and conservative so you can check it yourself.
- Your bill range: we use the low and high ends of the range you choose (for “Under $100” we use $50–$99; for “More than $300” we use $300 for both ends, so that estimate is a minimum).
- Rate increases: a lower case where your bill rises 2% a year (in line with the Federal Reserve’s long-run 2% inflation goal [5]) and a higher case of 3% a year. Both are well below NJ’s recent jumps: the average residential price rose 9.3% from 2023 to 2024 [4] and 8.7% in the first seven months of 2026 versus 2025. [1]
- Usage stays the same: we assume you use about the same amount of electricity every year.
- 20 years, simple totals: we add up 20 years of bills (today’s bill, then growing by the assumed rate each year), with no discounting, rounded to the nearest $1,000.
- What it is not: it isn’t a solar quote or a savings promise and doesn’t include any incentive values. Actual savings depend on your home and are confirmed by the installer.
| Monthly bill | Lower case (2%/yr) | Higher case (3%/yr) |
|---|---|---|
| $151 – $200 | $44,000 | $64,000 |
Straight answers
What NJ homeowners ask most before they start.
Does it cost anything to check?
No. The check, the home review, and the savings estimate are free, and there’s no obligation to buy anything.
Who will contact me, and how?
Spectacular Solar, a licensed New Jersey solar installer, using the phone number and email you give us. We share your details with them only. You can stop contact anytime by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller, or emailing us.
How much could I save with solar?
It depends on your electricity use, your roof’s size, direction, and shade, and your utility’s rates. That’s why our instant estimate only shows what your current bills could add up to, and the installer reviews your actual home before giving you a savings estimate.
Are NJ electric rates still going up?
No one can predict rates. After the state’s 2025 supply auction, average residential bills were projected to rise about 17% to 20% from June 2025, depending on the utility. [2] The 2026 auction was roughly flat, from −1.8% to +1.6%. [3] Our estimate uses modest 2–3% yearly increases.
Are there still solar programs in New Jersey?
Yes. New Jersey has programs such as SREC-IIs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates) and net metering with your utility. Rules, eligibility, and values can change, so the installer will explain what may apply to your home.
Does my utility matter?
Spectacular Solar serves homes in PSE&G, JCP&L, Atlantic City Electric, and Rockland Electric territories. Your utility affects your rates and how net metering works, so it helps the installer prepare. We are not affiliated with any utility.
What if my roof is shaded, older, or not shingle?
Answer honestly. The installer will tell you whether solar makes sense now or whether something like roof work should come first.
Why do you need my phone number and address?
So the installer can look at your specific roof and reach you about your estimate. Your address and phone number are shared only with Spectacular Solar.
