This Privacy Policy explains how NJ Home Energy Savings (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by SS Technologies, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit njhomeenergysavings.com (the “Site”) or submit a form on it.
Who we are
NJ Home Energy Savings connects New Jersey homeowners with home energy professionals. For solar, we connect homeowners with Spectacular Solar, a licensed New Jersey solar installer. We are not an installer or contractor ourselves.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your answers to our questions (such as whether you own your home, ZIP code, electric utility, typical electric bill range, roof shade, roof type, roof age, and project timeline) and your contact details (first and last name, email address, phone number, and street address).
- Consent record: when you submit a form, we record whether you checked the consent box, the exact consent wording you agreed to, the date and time, the web page address, and your browser’s user agent (a description of your browser and device). Our form does not record your IP address, although our web host and any advertising tools described below may receive it as part of normal web traffic.
- Information collected automatically: the referring page, the page address you arrived on, and campaign or ad identifiers in the link (for example, UTM parameters, Google click IDs, or Meta click IDs).
- Information stored on your device: to let you pick up where you left off, your quiz answers (not your name or contact details) are saved in your browser for up to 7 days. To avoid sending the same request twice, we also keep a note on your device that a phone number was submitted, for 30 days. You can clear this by clearing your browser’s site data.
- Advertising and analytics tools: if enabled, we use tools from Meta (Meta Pixel and Conversions API) and Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics). These may use cookies or similar technology to measure ad performance. When you submit the form, we may share a hashed (scrambled) version of your email, phone, name, and ZIP code, along with an event ID, with Meta and/or Google so they can match the sign-up to an ad. We do not send your answers or address to these tools.
How we use your information
- To review your answers and connect you with the installer described above.
- To contact you, or have the installer contact you, about your request.
- To keep records of your consent to be contacted.
- To show you an instant estimate based on your answers (calculated in your browser).
- To help the installer prioritize follow-up: we calculate an internal score from your answers (for example, bill range, roof shade, roof age, and timeline). It is used only to help prioritize follow-up and is not a credit check.
- To measure and improve our website and advertising, and to prevent spam and fraud.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights.
How we share your information
When you submit the solar form and agree to be contacted, we share your answers, contact details, consent record, and internal score with Spectacular Solar so they can contact you about solar for your home, including by phone, text, and email as described in the consent you gave. Spectacular Solar uses your information under its own privacy practices.
We may be paid by Spectacular Solar when we refer a homeowner. We do not share your information with any other installers or sell it to marketing lists. We may also share information with service providers that help us run the Site (for example, website hosting, form storage, email, and the advertising tools described above), when required by law, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
How long we keep information
We keep lead and consent records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to show that you agreed to be contacted, which may be several years after your submission, unless you ask us to delete them and we are not required to keep them.
Your choices: opting out and deletion
- Texts: reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts.
- Calls and email: tell the caller you no longer want to be contacted, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email us at the address below.
- Access or deletion: email us to ask what information we have about you or to have it deleted. We will also let Spectacular Solar know about your request. We may keep a minimal record of your opt-out so we can honor it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Site is meant for adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
